@ First Baptist Church
Q. I’m a first time guest. What do I do?
In our services we welcome guests as a matter of hospitality. We never make our guests feel uncomfortable. In our services guests are given a “connection card." It serves as a guest card and ministry request card. You can place it in an offering place or after the service go by the Welcome Center and get free gift for you. We love to give free guest gifts.
Q. What should I wear at First Ruidoso?
Dress comfortably. A few people dress up, but most wear casual and comfortable clothes on Sunday mornings. Don’t worry about what you wear, as you’ll never feel out of place when you come casual.
Q. What about Baptism?
If you have already received Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can schedule a baptism celebration with our pastor. You can schedule it on the “Connection Card” or call the office and schedule an appointment with pastor. We love to celebrate baptism.
Q. How do I join First Baptist Church?
If you want to join our church and make us your home church family, come at the end of the service and meet with one of our leaders at the “Connect @ First” table. The requirements for membership are simple: have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, be baptized by immersion after your received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, then we have you meet with our pastor and a spiritual leader so we can get to know you.
Q. When Should I Arrive?
Plan to arrive a few minutes prior to the start of Worship or Life Groups.
9:30 AM - Life Groups
10:45 AM - Worship
Enjoy coffee and fellowship in our mall at the coffee shop. Be a part of the community.
Q. Where Do I Park?
Plenty of space is reserved for guests. As you enter the campus, park on the top lot closest to the building. You will see signs marked “guests.”
Q. How many people come to the church campus on an average Sunday?
In the summer we have 300-400 people attend our worship services. In the Fall and Spring we have 175 to 250 people.
Q. How do you make a large church like yours small?
We encourage people to get connected in Life Groups. We call them Life Groups because we want people to get to know people and make friends as well as to learn the word of God. We offer Life Groups on campus and off campus (homes, restaurants, weeknights).
Q. What about Children?
Quality preschool and children’s Bible teaching are available in a safe and secure environment. We take the safety and security of your child very seriously. First Ruidoso also has a check in system for children used during our First Kids activities. In Life Groups at 9:30 a.m. we have a group for every age. In our 10:45 a.m. service we provide a Kids Worship service. It’s downstairs in our kid’s area. Our team will be ready to sign in your kids and serve your family.
Q. What about students?
We offer three disciple making opportunities for teenagers: REFUGE on Wednesday nights, Bible Study in Life Group on Sunday mornings, and one-on-three disciple making called Disciple 6 to prepare willing students to be ready to survive young adult life. Disciple 6 makes teens who are disciples of Jesus into life long disciples of Jesus.
